Dark, understated, and built to turn heads without shouting, the Air Jordan 5 ‘Black Cat’ is finally stepping out of the shadows.

Introduction:
After disappearing from Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2024 plans, the stealthy silhouette is now expected to arrive in Fall 2027, giving sneakerheads another chance to cop one of the most elusive AJ5 colorways yet.
The story of the ‘Black Cat’ has been anything but straightforward. Originally tipped for a 2024 release, the project was scrapped before reaching shelves, leaving the all-black AJ5 in limbo. Now, three years later, Jordan Brand appears ready to bring the concept to life, with the latest information coming via zSneakerHeadz in collaboration with Sneaker Files.
Design Details:
Keeping things suitably stealthy, the upcoming Air Jordan 5 ‘Black Cat’ is expected to arrive in a full black nubuck construction, giving the iconic fighter-jet-inspired silhouette a seriously menacing makeover.

The updated version is also tipped to feature an OG-inspired shape, alongside the original-style ‘23’ detailing on the lateral side. Around the back, Nike Air branding is expected to replace the Jumpman for an added hit of retro appeal.
Release Info:
The release is currently slated for Fall 2027, with adult pairs expected to retail for $220. The previously reported FZ2239-001 style code has been linked to the colorway, although its status for the 2027 release remains unconfirmed.
After years of false starts, the Air Jordan 5 ‘Black Cat’ could finally become a reality. If the reported details hold, this could be one seriously stealthy addition to the 2027 Jordan lineup.
