Nike SB is set to redefine storytelling with the upcoming release of the Dunk Low ‘Modern Cowboy’, part of the 2025 Black History Month collection.
Design Details:
This unique release pays homage to the overlooked legacy of Black cowboys, a group that shaped the American West but is often absent from mainstream narratives. According to The Smithsonian, one in four cowboys were Black, a fact that underscores this design’s cultural significance.
The ‘Modern Cowboy’ Dunk Low boasts a vibrant Tourmaline green upper, accented by Monarch orange piping, a Baroque Brown heel, and a bold red outsole. A standout detail is the rope-styled ‘NIKE’ branding on the heel and matching shoelaces, nodding to cowboy lassos.
The Sonora-style embroidery on the heel, featuring a Western star, adds an authentic touch inspired by cowboy boots. The insoles depict a silhouetted cowboy against a glowing yellow horizon, an image echoed on the accompanying handkerchief that reads, 'What’s gonna happen is gonna happen.'
Release Info:
Rumored to drop in February 2025 for $135, the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Modern Cowboy’ will be available via SNKRS and select retailers. This sneaker seamlessly blends history, culture, and iconic design, making it a must-have for sneaker enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
